My approach is grounded in compassion, respect, and hope. I hold a strong belief that change is possible, even in the face of significant challenges. Together, we work towards building insight, growth, and meaningful change.
I draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sensorimotor Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Using an integrative approach allows me to be responsive and flexible, always guided by the needs and goals of each client.
I am a registered Clinical and Counselling Psychologist with over a decade of experience across diverse clinical settings. I began my career in a psychiatric and drug and alcohol hospital, where I worked closely with individuals experiencing acute mental health issues, complex trauma, and substance use disorders. This formative experience shaped my deep understanding of the long-term impact of early life experiences and the importance of a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach to care.
In this role, I also became a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) therapist, supporting individuals with personality disorders, complex trauma, and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. This work laid a strong foundation for my understanding of the complex relationship between attachment, life experiences and mental health which underpins my practice.
For the past 10 years, I have also worked in the field of reproductive and fertility psychology, as a Senior Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor. This role involved navigating the complex intersections of mental health, grief and loss, legal and ethical considerations, and the emotional toll of infertility and pregnancy loss. I supported individuals and couples through the challenges of fertility treatment, as well as those navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, and relationship concerns.
My experience includes working with young people aged 12 to 25 in a youth mental health setting. Providing longer-term support in this context has reinforced for me the critical importance of early intervention and holistic care during key developmental stages. Throughout my career, I have held roles in private practice, community health, and paediatrics, conducting complex assessments and supporting families with behavioural and developmental concerns.
In 2019, I completed a two-year registrar program to become an endorsed Counselling Psychologist, and I also more recently gained endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist. In 2021, I became a Board Approved Supervisor. Supporting students and early-career psychologists has been a rewarding part of my journey, and I continue to find great meaning in mentoring the next generation of clinicians.
